Hi all,
thanks for Navit, it is great. :)

During a traffel on a highway in Germany (at motorway-interchange Hamburg Süd), the voice said "turn right" but in reality and on display I had to turn left.
Are you aware of such a problem?

I use navit-svn-5539 on Android.
I can provide more details if required.

Thanks
tintin

Did you possibly drive from Landungsbrücken southwards (towards A 1 - Maschener Kreuz)? I know that at that place the way towards Maschener Kreuz, which is in fact on the left side, still makes a small right turn (while the one towards Lübeck turn right even more strongly). Navit sees a right turn there. I guess to fix that one should check whether the route turns "relatively left, compared with the other options", instead of "absolutely right, compared to previous direction".

I think it's related to this ticket?
http://trac.navit-project.org/ticket/795

Would be great if you could attach another example (please with a OSM map/permalink and a good description where you drove, when was the announcement etc. A compare with http://map.project-osrm.org would be great, too :)

Yes, ticket #795 is related to my problem.

OSRM:
http://map.project-osrm.org/?hl=de&loc=53.508260,10.073060&loc=53.498250,10.037430&z=14&center=53.508264,10.055494&alt=0&df=0&re=0&ly=588398340
I have attached a GPX file with the coordinates.

I could simulate the problem in the Android emulator (see attached picture where the arrow points to the right, while the green line goes left).

Further investigation showed that the patch for ticket #795 is not included in the source yet.
After a small modification in the patch (changing "way->flags" to "w->flags"), rebuilding navit and run the emulator, the voice now says correctly "turn left".
But the arrow still points to the right.
So the patch solves only part of the problem.

Thanks for the help.

I'm a bit confused that the spelling directions and osd directions components are seperated. Can any senior tell details about the internal notification processing?
