Hi, can you please give some more details on your specific usecase?
So you want to add commments e.g. to a bookmark POI?

AFAIK Csv doesn't support any additional attributes for notes/descriptions yet:

I thought of something like this:

#POIs of village A
mg:16.40305 48.26801 type=poi_custom1 label="Street 1"
mg:16.33728 48.19692 type=poi_custom1 label="Street 2"
mg:16.39293 48.21864 type=poi_custom0 label="Street 3"
#POIs of village B
mg:16.31199 48.19942 type=poi_custom0 label="Street 1"
mg:16.34329 48.22044 type=poi_custom0 label="Street 2"

Ok so we are talking about strings to init a line that is skipped by the parser and so they can be used for personal comments, right?

AFAIK there is currently no support. Doesn't sound that difficult to implement, so if you like just add a trac ticket.

P.S. Personally I like to see more common format support in Navit for adding custom POIs, as KML/GPX. They allow XML comments of course with <!--comment --> lines

It looks like we do support '#' as comment char in textfile maps.

For csv maps, lines with non-matching attribute count will be skipped but a error message will be put in the log.

One also could use some of existing string attributes like description or town_name to store any additional information, for example:
Code:
11.474678,48.109384,Klinikum Großhadern,Type one
11.548171,48.103229,Klinik Dr. Rinecker,Type one
11.548521,48.102965,Klinik Dr. Rinecker,Type one
11.557829,48.084362,Klinik München Harlaching,Type one
11.558171,48.131003,Poliklinik Kierferortopädie,Type two
11.559268,48.130385,Haunersche Kinderklinik,Type two
11.563531,48.130157,Frauenklinik,Type two
11.559448,48.132720,Psychiatrische Klinik,Type two
11.561939,48.132288,Med. Klinik,Type three
11.558135,48.131646,Poliklinik Zahnprothetik,Type three
11.558180,48.131327,Poliklinik Parodontologie,Type three
11.561831,48.133476,Chirurgische Klinik,Type three
11.562578,48.134365,Med. Poliklinik,Type three
11.562605,48.135271,Augenklinik,Type three
11.629236,48.101908,Klinik München-Perlach,Type three
11.629676,48.102160,Klinik München-Perlach,Type one
11.662475,48.077855,Privatklinik St. Cosmas,Type one

may be connected with
Code:
<map type="csv" data="clinik.csv" item_type="poi_hospital" attr_types="position_latitude,position_longitude,label,description" />

Such a file can be edited also with OpenOFfiice Calc, using filter to hide items by their description.

Also, this additional info will be displayed in the item attribute list.
