In the other thread, I asked for a better highlighting of hyperlinks.

Now, I have an additional request: Wouldn't it be better, if the hyperlinks will open in a new window/tab?
This is easy to implement: just ensure, that target="_blank" will added to the hyperlinks.

What are you thinking about this?

Personally I simply keep the Ctrl key pressed when clicking a link, so that Firefox opens it in a new tab. But as I understood, you're using a mobile device, and probably have no Ctrl key always at hand? So I think one can certainly add target="_blank" to the hyperlinks, I see no immediate reason against it.

I think the OpenStreetMap forum uses some JavaScript for this, which is rather annoying, because it opens a new tab and also gives the focus to the new tab. But I prefer to open a link in a new tab, while keeping the focus on the old tab (and one can tell Firefox to do so on Ctrl + click). Using target="_blank" should be fine, because it keeps the Ctrl key behavior and doesn't have this annoying effect.

Opening the hyperlinks from postings in a new tab/window isn't so important. Its just nice to have.

But for the moment there is something not o.k.: The hyperlinks in the posting don't open in a new tab/window - this isn't a problem.
But since yesterday evening, the links to the subforums (on the mainforum) open in a new tab (p.e. if you click on misc., Development, Installation, etc.). I think, this isn't so good.

I fixed the bug.
Enabling the links is bit more complex, will give it a second this days.

Maybe, the mod Prime Links can help to add a target for external links.
(Its a long time ago, that I had administrated a phpBB-forum, but if I'm not wrong, I think, I had made it with this mod)
