Yes :D.

As I wrote above, Navit has switched from Subversion (hosted on http://sourceforge.net/projects/navit/ ) to Git (hosted on https://github.com/navit-gps/navit ). The Subversion repo is frozen.

I'll edit the pages on sourceforge.net to indicate this (hoping to get around to it shortly).

Even though, the version on f-droid is still much older. The last update there was Version navit 0.5.0-6095 - Added on 2015-05-20

The fork named ZANavi has been recently added to f-droid. I've only now learned of it, but I haven't installed that one yet.

Is it wise to spread developers on two branches/forks? UI is one thing, but changes "under the hood" like routing algorithms require a lot of testing and experience.

No, in fact, it is not wise. ZANavi is a fork done by one guy targetting Android only, and it is not supported by the Navit developers.

Hi everyone.
I really need to pay more attention to the forums :)

I've attached one of the latest unsigned apk to this tag : https://github.com/navit-gps/navit/releases/tag/R6259

I will look into having the apk being automatically associated with the relevant tags.

We should get an apk each time we have a successful build in the master branch. This apk is automatically pushed to the beta channel of Google Play Store.

If you don't use Play Store, how would you like to be notified of the availability of a new apk?

Push it to f-droid also? That's where I have it installed from, and check almost daily for new apps and updates, but navit has not been updated since may :-(

Problem is with mixing different install sources, as conflicting signatures prevent a direct upgrade (without manually deleting the conflicting install first).

Ektus.

Tryagain submitted a request to get an update of the source code location. It just has been merged, I expect a new package to be available by the time you read this.

I will look into adding automatic updates from our CI workflow too, as we do for Google Play Store.

Let us know if it solves your need!
