Hello Everybody!

Does anyone run navit on a Raspberry Pi 3B+? I tried several ways to install it, but all failed . Is there a tutorial or a suggested configuration for the Pi3B+? Google did not help...

Thanks a lot!

Last week I installed Navit from the Raspbian repository (0.5.3).
On a 3B not a 3B+. Specs are not much different I think.

The most difficult things were not Navit related.
Onboard bluetooth GPS and onboard bluetooth sound on Raspbian.

It all a sort of works. I will post my questions in other topics.

Hello everyone!
I have same problem just now.
My navit version is 0.5.0..
Would you tell me how to get or install the latest navit version
for Raspberry Pi 3B+.

As I wrote in my previous post, I had no problem with the Navit software itself. Bluetooth GPS and speaker were more difficult to install.

I used raspbian stretch with pixel.
Make sure GPS is working (i.e. with cgps)
Use the testing repository of Raspbian to get Navit 0.5.3.
Configure your map in navit.xml.

Start your engine.

Thanks Arno!
I have not used your tools yet.
I'll look there somehow, and I'll try it.

I was able to update to the version '0.5.3+qit', thanks for all.
Here are my experiences:
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install apt-file
sudo apt-file update
sudo apt-file search apt-add-repository
sudo apt-get install -y software-properties-common
And, I edited the file '/etc/apt/source.list',
add the new line on the bottom of file.
(It is a site when you live in Japan.)
deb sid main navit
And, I execute below command.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install navit
The above is all that I have done.
If there are any concerns, please point out.
