Hello,

I've been using Navit quite a while on my HP Pre/Pre+ mobile
phones (WebOS 1.4 and WebOS 2.0). It's really amazing how
I could use self-submitted Openstreetmap data whereever I
come by.

Now, I found an older TomTom ONE navi, and looking for more
recent / OSM based replacements for the original data, I came
accross Navit's TomTom port.

I used a pre-compiled zip file, and it looks like I could just
install it by coping the archive to the device. First I thought,
I had to adapt paths, because there is no sdcard slot in my
device, but it seems like the paths are as given.

Successfully, I ran the touch screen calibration, and my
experience from the webos version will help me over the
next steps.

Just two things to ask:

1) Is there a chance to combine the advantages of
free data (OSM) with TMC traffic information, as offered
by TomToms original software, using navit?

2) When I enter setup menu, I can display locale
settings, and I can leave this entry by tapping the
parent object; but I just cannot leave/exit the setup
menu by no means but waiting for the battery to
be discharged (not even pressing the power button
will quit navit here). If the battery is charged too much,
I am afraid of a burned in display...

Maybe, I should submit the latter question to BTS,
somewhere.

Cheers, kind regards
Mikafar

The files are there, this is strange. Maybe a library is missing to display images? Any hints?
I will attach a recursive directory listing, maybe you can find anything missing?

After reading the TomTom development wiki page, it strikes me that apparently navit.xml is missing, both on my device and in the archive.
Also, there was no sdl-wrapper/cap, which is another thing I will try to check.

Not yet. For this I would first need to figure out how to access the TMC data and write a driver for that. And I'm not sure how well TMC is so far supported by Navit.[/quote]

The TomTom port comes with two versions of the navit.xml depending on the screen resolution of the particular model. On the TomTom One with 320x240 pixels this one is loaded:

Unfortunately I don't have a TomTom here for testing at the moment. Which version have you downloaded?

There is a feature request at ticket #570 concerning adding TMC support. It would be great if you add a comment there if, you are willing to test this feature later :) (plz. also add your wiki profile URL as CC so you get replies on the ticket)

Hi you all, thanks for your statements.
As this seems to be a graphics problem, I posted more details logs to the dev/graphics board.
I'd be glad to learn more about this issue.
